JTB Teams With Ticketmaster

Japan Travel Bureau, the largest travel agency in Japan, will be joining forces with Ticketmaster to offer its customers access to event and concert tickets in North America.

According to the agreement, announced at the end of September, JTB will provide affiliate sales to Ticketmaster by translating Web pages at ticketmaster.com into Japanese.

Together the two companies will sell tickets for events taking place in the U.S. to the travel market in Japan.

“In anticipation of the growing interest among Japanese people in attending U.S. events, we aim to help Ticketmaster expand ticket sales for entertainment events overseas and encourage our consumers here in Japan to travel abroad,” said Shinichi Shimizu, JTB’s senior managing director.

“By making the purchase process available in Japanese language to Japan-based consumers, we will help Ticketmaster increase sales for its clients and we will be able to offer greater value and opportunities for Japanese consumers’ travel and tourism into the United States.”

JTB plans to launch the new service in December.
