Beach Boys Auction Canceled

A Beach Boys memorabilia auction was canceled October 27th after representatives of the band discovered the items had been stolen from a North Hollywood, Calif., warehouse.

Beach Boys reps learned of the auction planned by London-based CooperOwen when 28 items – including original sheet music penned by Brian Wilson and Mike Love – appeared on the Internet, according to Edwin McPherson of Brother Records, the band’s company.

He said the auction was called off “with about 30 minutes to spare.”

Police confirmed that a report had been filed about the theft but didn’t comment further.
