Alan Sparhawk, Mimi Parker and Zak Sally have comprised the band since its inception, but Sally announced recently that he had decided to leave.

“While I wish the best for Alan and Mimi (and Hollis and Cyrus), I can no longer be a member of the band,” Sally said. “I sincerely hope that someday we can sit in the basement and make music together, but for now, there are more important things than music. Or bands.”

The band has found a replacement in Matt Livingston, however, and they’re not wasting any time getting back on the road.

They’ll do two December shows in Minnesota prior to the tour, which kicks off January 26 in Milwaukee. They’ll make their way to Montreal and New York, then head back through Colorado and Utah to the West Coast, wrapping in Vancouver, B.C., March 8.

The band is supporting its seventh album – and first for Sub Pop – The Great Destroyer.
