Unlimited Sunshine
It’s been a few years since Cake took its own traveling festival, the Unlimited Sunshine tour, on the road, but the band is reviving the tradition in January.
Cake’s collaborators this time around include pop duo Tegan and Sara, Gypsy punks Gogol Bordello, and Sub Pop comedian Eugene Mirman.
The tour starts January 19 in Worcester, Mass., and proceeds across the country, finishing February 1 at the SF Weekly Warfield in San Francisco.
Cake has been touring steadily since releasing Pressure Chief in fall 2004.
The group’s past Unlimited Sunshine tours, in 2002 and ’03, included opening acts as diverse as Modest Mouse, Cheap Trick, Charlie Louvin, De La Soul, The Flaming Lips, Hackensaw Boys, The Detroit Cobras, and Kinky.
