Friendly Festival Toilets

The Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival in Indio, Calif., always has interesting art projects on the festival grounds.

The last one included a giant Tesla ball and garbage cans painted by artists. For this spring’s Coachella, one of the art projects is Portal Potties.

Artists are given a minimum $1,500 stipend to equip 10 clean porta-potties with hi-fi surround sound systems and flat screen TVs, with the intention of giving viewers “an artistic journey through the last 100 years of Southern Californian music culture.”

It should make up for the experience festival-goers have with the porta-potties in the campground areas.
