Solo Dan
Steely Dan co-founder Donald Fagen has something new in store for fans: his first solo tour ever.
In support of Morph The Cat, his third album under his own name, Fagen will play theatres across North America for four weeks this spring.
The tour starts in New Brunswick, N.J., March 1, moving through the East Coast and across to California, wrapping at Oakland’s Paramount Theatre March 28.
“I’ve never done it before,” Fagen recently told Rolling Stone. “I might do a few Steely Dan things that I particularly like, but it’ll mainly be my stuff.”
Morph The Cat – which follows 1982’s The Nightfly and 1993’s Kamakiriad – is set for release March 7, when Fagen will be entertaining a home-turf crowd at New York City’s Beacon Theatre.
Steely Dan’s last tour, in support of the 2003 album Everything Must Go, wrapped in October of that year.
