Lawsuit ‘In Da Club’
Former 2 Live Crew frontman Luther Campbell has filed a lawsuit against
Attorney Richard Wolfe said 50 lifted the opening of his 2003 hit “In Da Club” from a 1994 song on Campbell’s solo album.
The claim states that 50 Cent only changed one word from the opening line of Campbell’s “It’s Your Birthday.” In his song, 50 raps, “Go shorty, it’s your birthday”
Wolfe said the only change was “Sheila” to “shorty.”
