Promoters Meet In Vegas

The North American Concert Promoters Association held a membership meeting February 12th on the eve of CIC 2006 in Las Vegas. More than 70 people representing the association’s 29 members were in attendance.

The members discussed a number of ongoing issues from 2005 but focused mostly on the issues ahead. To that end, the organization heard a presentation on how to “Fix The Future” from Stan Slap, a consultant specializing in branding strategies.

Live Nation’s Brian Murphy was elected as NACPA’s new president and chairman of the board. Beckye Levin of Live Nation and Larry Vallon of AEG Live were reelected to the board along with additions Alex Hodges of House of Blues Concerts and independent promoter Bill Silva.
