Guster Goes Green
Indie rock outfit Guster is looking to combine rock ‘n’ roll with environmental activism this spring on the Campus Consciousness Tour.
The trek is being launched in conjunction with environmental action group Reverb, founded by Guster guitarist/vocalist Adam Gardner and his wife. Reverb will construct an interactive “consciousness pavilion” at each stop on the cross-country trek.
The tour starts March 23 at House of Blues in San Diego, with shows planned at nearly 30 clubs and colleges over the next six weeks. Guster and Reverb will wrap things up May 6 at Elon University in North Carolina.
Tour buses will run on biodiesel, and renewable energy company NativeEnergy will donate credits, called “green tags,” to offset 100 percent of the carbon dioxide emissions caused by the tour.
Guster’s new album, Ganging Up On The Sun, is set for release June 13.
