New Shed For Iowa Fair

The Iowa State Fair in Des Moines will have a new $1.3 million amphitheatre, which will house about 5,000 to 6,000 people, fair manager and chief executive Gary Slater told Pollstar.

The venue should be built in time for the fair’s August 10th opening day. The amphitheatre will be available for rent when the fair’s not in town. Fair officials won’t be promoting their own shows, “But if somebody wanted to rent it out … we’d work with them,” Slater said.

Naming rights have not yet been sold. Off-season booking inquiries can be directed to Lori Chappel.
