Nation Nightclub Closing

The Nation nightclub in Washington, D.C., is shuttering July 16th to make room for a development project related to the new stadium for Major League Baseball’s Nationals.

The 1,500-capacity venue has shows scheduled until the closing date, including The Aquabats and Alkaline Trio. The owners are said to be shopping for a new location.

The Nation opened in 1999 and was designed by owner John Boyle, son of Cellar Door founder Jack Boyle.

Over its seven years, The Nation has hosted Limp Bizkit, Creed, 311, Snoop Dogg, and Prince, among others.
