Sixx Attacks!

Two sources at Live Nation St. Louis confirmed that Mötley Crüe‘s Nikki Sixx did in fact stab a photo of Poison‘s Bret Michaels during an August 9th gig at the UMB Bank Pavilion.

“We were backstage and heard glass shattering,” LN’s Amy Moorehouse told Pollstar. “We were going, ‘What in the world is going on?’ So we stepped into the hallway.”

Apparently, Sixx was bashing a framed photo of Michaels that was on the wall outside his dressing room. He then took out a pocket knife and stabbed the photo, digging a hole through the picture and into the wall, according to Moorehouse.

“He grabbed onto the picture and it eventually fell off the wall, and he threw it down onto the ground,” she added.

For the record, LN’s David Gerardi told Pollstar the stabbing incident was merely a joke.

During a TV press interview, “Someone had asked him who rocked harder in the ’80s: Poison or Mötley Crüe?” Gerardi said. “I think the whole thing was done as a joke – kind of a tongue-in-cheek thing.”

Instead of trashing the shredded photo, LN officials decided to enter it into the annual Rock ‘n’ Roll Auction & Concert party at St. Louis’ Pageant August 5th, which raised $37,000 for children’s music programs in the city. The mutilated item sold for $200.

“I’d say it was our most unique item,” Moorehouse said. “We love having items out there that have a little story behind them.”
