The True False Identity Tour launches May 23 at Chicago’s Vic Theatre. Long-time T Bone associate Jakob Dylan will appear as special guest on the trek, which hits theatres and outdoor venues in 15 cities across the country.

Two shows are booked for San Francisco’s Great American Music Hall June 14-15, with Peter Hayes and Robert Levon Been taking Dylan’s place on the second evening.

For his touring band, T Bone has recruited a group of old friends and frequent collaborators: Jim Keltner on drums, Marc Ribot on guitar, Dennis Crouch on bass and Keefus Ciancia on keyboards.

They’ll wrap with a week of West Coast shows, finishing June 20 at Los Angeles’ Wilshire Ebell Theatre.

The tour is named after T Bone’s new album, The True False Identity – his first studio effort in 14 years. The disc comes out May 16, the same day as a 40-song career-spanning retrospective, titled Twenty Twenty – The Essential T Bone Burnett.
