Jahnke Unveils Delights

Hamburg promoter Kartsen Jahnke set up a May 17 press conference at the city’s Schmidt Theater to unveil the attractions of his inaugural Reeperbahn Festival, which is scheduled September 21-23.

U.S. singer/songwriter Adam Green, who finished his European tour at London Scala April 20, heads a lineup that includes Arrested Development, Iain Matthews, Julian Dawson, Naked Raven, Marcello, Paolo Nutini, Patrice, Sarah Hepburn, Shine, Tocotronic, Hidalgo, and The Rapture.

The three-day event will present about a couple hundred acts in the square mile around the city’s docks, using the facilities of regular music venues including Grosse Freiheit 36, Docks, Gruenspan, Mandarin Kasino, Indra, Knust, Molotov as well as theatres including the St. Pauli, the Schmidt, the Imperial and Fliegende Bauten.
