Pussycat ‘Dolls’ Too Extreme

There will be no The Pussycat Dolls – at least not the ones made by Hasbro.

The toy company was planning to manufacture a line of PCD dolls that would do battle against the Bratz fashion dolls.

A letter-writing campaign by an advocacy group called Dads and Daughters pressed for Hasbro to rethink its plans, according to The New York Times. The dolls were geared toward 9-year-old girls.

“Interscope’s current creative direction and images for the recording group are focused on a much older target than we had anticipated at the time of our original discussions,” Hasbro said, adding that the dolls were “inappropriate for Hasbro.”
