Shouting At The Mirror

After being questioned about Madonna’s ticket price by a Daily Mirror showbiz page reporter, Live Nation press manager Steve Guest was quoted shouting, “What sort of story are you trying to do? We don’t have a comment, speak to her PR,” in response.

“I was only shouting because she’d called me on my mobile when I was in Hyde Park for Wireless Festival,” he told Pollstar from the relative quiet of his London office.

“I’m sitting here with the blinds down and the door closed,” he added, explaining that the Mirror story caused so much amusement in the Live Nation office that he felt like hiding up.

Even with a month to go, the paper claimed Madonna‘s July 30th show at Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium, the first date of the U.K. leg of her European tour, isn’t doing well because she’s “charging up to £150 a ticket.”

In the three months since they went on sale, The Mirror claims fans have bought most of the cheaper tickets – between £55 and £70 – but have “balked at forking out between £100 and £150 for the best seats.”
