Macau Casino Exec Murdered

Chao Yeuk-hong, executive director of the Golden Palace VIP rooms of Casino Lisboa in Macau, was found murdered August 18th.

Chao’s body was discovered by police in the front seat of her car along with the dead body of her husband. The car was parked near a golf course located just over the Chinese border from Hong Kong.

It is the first time a major casino executive had been murdered since 1996. Macau reverted to Chinese rule in 1999.

Before then, the former Portuguese enclave’s gaming industry was mostly controlled by organized crime and gang violence was the norm.
