Growing Farm Aid
This year’s Farm Aid benefit concert will feature not only the nearly annual show’s founders (Neil Young, Willie Nelson and John Mellencamp) and mainstays like Dave Matthews, but also genres from polka to reggae.
The lineup for the September 30 concert at the Tweeter Center in Camden, N.J., should have fans of just about every genre dancing in the aisles
Reggae will be provided Steel Pulse, polka legend Jimmy Sturr and His Orchestra adds a new beat to the fest, pedal-steel guitarist Robert Randolph & The Family Band bring the soul, and rock ‘n’ roll pioneer Jerry Lee Lewis will boogie with guitarist Roy Head.
The lineup also includes Los Lonely Boys, Arlo Guthrie, Gov’t Mule, Steve Earle and Allison Moorer, Shelby Lynne, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Pauline Reese and Danielle Evin.
The benefit concert has been held most years since 1985 and raises money to help family farmers keep their land.
