A Northeast summer festival and haven for jam band fans may return to its former seaside location following a Connecticut commission’s decision October 10th.
The Bridgeport Board of Park Commissioners gave tentative approval to allow the
Pending bonding and security, Promoter Kenneth Hays of Terrapin Presents will be given the go-ahead for the festival. Hays told the Connecticut Post if the concert is a success, he will aim for exclusive rights to hold concerts at the park for the next several years.
“I don’t want someone else coming in here, a big promoter, saying, ‘You’re out Ken,'” Hays said.
The last time Vibes was held at Seaside Park was in 2000. Park maintenance projects and slow ticket sales reportedly caused the festival to be moved to New York for the next six years.
