Watch Your Back
Toronto singer/songwriter Emily Haines has announced a January solo tour in support of her debut album, Knives Don’t Have Your Back.
The trek spans January 4-23, starting at Montreal’s Theatre Outremont and finishing at the El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles.
Haines, who fronts Metric and is a member of the Broken Social Scene collective, will perform with Sparklehorse drummer Scott Minor on drums and New York bassist Paul Dillon. Both musicians played on Knives as part of The Soft Skeleton, Haines’ backing group.
Short films by Guy Maddin will be projected on stage during Haines’ sets, as during her last tour.
Haines has been making her way around Europe with Metric throughout October and will continue through the U.K. in November. Metric plans to start work on a new album before Haines goes on the road.
