Elton Blasts Universal

Elton John fired f- bombs at his label, Universal, during his introduction to his new song “Postcards From Richard Nixon” at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, N.Y., November 2nd.

“I’m going to play a song but I’m sure you haven’t heard it because the [expletive deleted]-ers haven’t promoted it.”

John’s The Captain & The Kid – a follow-up to the classic Captain Fantastic & The Brown Dirt Cowboy – has received good reviews but its sales have been underwhelming.

“My record label isn’t doing anything to help. [Expletive deleted] Universal! … They’re useless. Here’s a message to Universal Records: Please drop me. Just let me go somewhere else.”

The rant came the same week John parted ways with co-manager Merck Mercuriadis.

Spokesman Gary Farrow said the rant was tongue-in-cheek.
