Faithfull Recovers From Cancer

Marianne Faithfull has made a full recovery from breast cancer and is expected to return to the road in the new year.

Manager Henry McGroggan, who combines his roles as tour manager for The Corrs, Iggy & The Stooges, and Russell Watson with running his Central European Organization agency, had to scrap a 21-date world tour that was due to start in Paris October 7th, but he has already started inking shows for the spring.

The first to be confirmed is Budapest Palace of Art March 12th, which is where McGroggan intens to start the tour.

The 59-year-old star, who had been diagnosed with early stage cancer and underwent surgery, said in a statement “it has been an extraordinary experience and, in many ways, extremely positive.”

“I didn’t realize how many true friends I had. I feel so lucky and loved and thank everybody for all their good thoughts,” she said.

Faithfull has been a recording artist for four decades, since being discovered by Rolling Stones manager Andrew Loog Oldham.

Her hits include “As Tears Go By,” “Come And Stay With Me” and “This Little Bird.”

She has also appeared in a number of films, including a role in the recent Sofia Coppola film “Marie Antoinette.”
