Melanie Plays For S. Korea

On October 30th, the American singer Melanie Safka, who is better known by her first name only and a string of early ’70s hits, played a concert in Imjingak, South Korea, which is about seven kilometers from the Demilitarized Zone that divides the Korean peninsula.

Apparently, a former prime minister of Korea is a big Melanie fan and he invited her to perform in the town, which contains a memorial to people who lost family and homes in the Korean War.

Later, Melanie went to Seoul for her first-ever scheduled concert in Korea. She is now organizing a World Peace Tour that was inspired by current global events.
