Hits of the 17th Century
Accompanied by lutenist Edin Karamazov and The Concord Ensemble choir, Sting will perform music from the album Songs From The Labyrinth in a special one-night-only show January 11 at Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles.
The artist will launch his 14-city Songs From The Labyrinth European Tour February 18 at Salle Pleyel in Paris and wrap things up March 12 at the Beethovensaal in Stuttgart, Germany.
The critically acclaimed Labyrinth, which debuted at No. 1 on the classical charts when it was released last October, is a collection of songs by 17th Century Elizabethan composer John Dowland performed on the lute and archlute. Sting decided to do the album to honor the composer after being “gently haunted” by Dowland’s music for the past 20 years.
