‘Legends’ Club On The Move

Buddy Guy’s Legends in Chicago will move from its location at Columbia College by this summer to make room for a new student center at the site.

Club manager Brian Fadden said the search for a new site is under way.

"This is a good spot and we hate to move. But we hope to not go very far," he said.

Columbia officials issued a statement saying they’re willing to work with Guy during the transition.

"While it is true that Mr. Guy’s lease on his current location ends in May, Columbia College Chicago, which owns the property, has taken no steps to force his immediate relocation. In fact, the college is prepared to maintain flexibility as ‘landlord’ – but not indefinitely."

The statement also said that Guy was told about the student center plan when the lease was negotiated two years ago.
