Gorny Quits MTV

Dieter Gorny has quit MTV Networks Europe to "pursue new career opportunities."

Gorny has been the network’s executive president since 2004, when MTV bought out his rival German broadcaster in a multimillion-euro deal.

He started VIVA in Cologne in 1993, switching from managing director to chief exec in 2000 as the newly incorporated VIVA Media was launched.

News of Gorny’s departure comes soon after Simon Guild, MTV Networks Europe’s president and chef exec, quit the company.
