Bad Aussie Vibrations

The Good Vibrations festival’s move this year to Australia’s Gold Coast might be short lived. A dispute has broken out between festival organiser Jam Music and the local council of the site, the Doug Jennings Park at The Spit.

The council claims patrons were urinating in shrubs, and one accidentally started a bushfire with a cigarette.

Fifteen cars were towed away after being illegally parked, and a drunken fan tried to steal a traffic controller’s scooter.

Councilors say that a month ago, the park was used by another dance festival, Summafieldayze. Residents complained of traffic jams caused by there only being one road leading to the site.

This year Good Vibrations was headlined by the Beastie Boys and Jurassic 5, and made its first appearance in Singapore.
