The trek begins in San Francisco April 2, the day before the album hits stores. She’ll head to the East Coast and back over the next seven weeks, finishing May 24 in Spokane, Wash.

Carlile will be accompanied by a full band on the trek, although fans in Seattle and Portland, Ore., can catch her in an acoustic setting at two pre-tour listening parties.

The Story was recorded in 11 days with producer T-Bone Burnett in Vancouver, B.C., and features a guest appearance by the Indigo Girls.

Carlile spent much of last year on the road with artists including Jamie Cullum, Train, Shawn Colvin, and The Fray.
