Chili Peppers Fan Killed In Ticket Queue

Tragedy ensued as New Zealand fans of the Red Hot Chili Peppers camped overnight outside the Rebel Sports Complex to buy tickets for the band’s two Auckland shows April 21st and 22nd.

One 18-year-old who was sleeping in the car park was struck by a car at 3:25 a.m. in a hit and run March 5th. The fan, Sang Je Lee, who had come from South Korea to study in a local college, died later in hospital. His mom had given him money to buy the tickets as an advance birthday present.

The box office opened on schedule, and all tickets disappeared in 20 minutes.
