Rolling Stone In Japan

Following its launch of a Chinese-language version of Rolling Stone last year that almost got blocked by the government, Wenner Media is inaugurating a Japanese version of the rock / pop culture magazine in April.

It is the second time Jann Wenner has tried to publish an edition in Japan, the first time being in 1973. That one quickly folded for "financial reasons," according to the Wall Street Journal.

Like the Chinese edition, the Japanese one will mostly consist of translated articles from the American version. Tokyo-based International Luxury Media is publishing the mag, in which the first issue will feature Kurt Cobain on the cover.
