Aspinall Leaves Beatles’ Apple

Apple Corps Ltd. CEO Neil Aspinall, a longtime friend of the The Beatles, has stepped down, the company announced April 10th. Aspinall, 64, was the band’s first road manager.

He worked up to personal assistant and was given a management position at Apple Records in 1968.

He was executive producer on The Beatles’ Anthology album as well as other successes such as One.

"Aspinall had been with John, Paul, George and Ringo for a spectacular 40-plus years, during which he played an indispensable role for the four," the company said.

Former Sony BMG executive VP Jeff Jones has been named as replacement.
