The Ben Folds Experience cruise will set sail from the Port of Miami on February 21, make a stop in Ocho Rios, Jamaica, and return to Miami on February 25 – with plenty of non-stop partying along the way.

Folds said he wanted to get some fellow musicians, a couple of comedians and a bunch of fans together for “some kind of magical experience,” but his first suggestion didn’t fly.

“The idea of painting a large bus psychedelic purple, not taking baths for a week and driving around the country jamming out on one chord about the war got shot down quickly,” Folds said. “So I decided to take a cruise.”

The lineup is being kept under-wraps, but Folds promises it will be announced soon and worth the wait.

He and the other performers will appear in nightclub-like settings aboard the ship, which also features a full-service spa, internet café, coffee bar, state-of-the-art gym facilities, fine dining, free 24-hour room service, a casino and more.

Tickets for the Ben Folds cruise go on sale June 11.

There are several other music cruises scheduled for the early part of next year.

Lynyrd Skynyrd’s Simple Man Cruise sets sail January 10, hitting Key West, Fla., and Calica, Mexico, before returning January 14.

The Rock Boat VIII runs January 19-24 and features a lineup that includes Sister Hazel, Marc Broussard, Josh Kelley and Toad The Wet Sprocket.

Barenaked Ladies’ Ships & Dips III cruise launches January 27 and drops in on Grand Cayman in the Cayman Islands and Ocho Rios, Jamaica, before returning to port February 1.

Tickets for all three cruises are on sale now.
