The 27-city tour kicks off July 7 at the Magic Stick in Detroit and will make stops in clubs and theatres across the country, including the Denver’s Varsity Theater (July 10), Seattle’s Neumo’s (July 17), the El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles (July 21), San Antonio’s White Rabbit (July 27), Workplay Theatre in Birmingham, Ala. (July 31), and Ottobar in Baltimore, Md. (August 8).

Although the core of Rasputina is founder Melora Creager, the group features an ever-changing lineup of cellists. In addition to drummer Jonathan TeBeest the band now includes cellist Sarah Bowman, who replaced Zöe Keating, the most recent member to depart from the group.

The band’s upcoming release, Oh Perilous World!, is their sixth full-length album. Creager said the CD is the result of two years of adapting current events around the world into song.
