Bravo Absorbed

Knitting Factory Entertainment has fully acquired Paul Thornton’s Bravo Entertainment and said it plans to announce sites for one or more new facilities over the next quarter.

Knitting Factory acquired a majority stake in Bravo in January 2006 and, in the process, became the parent company of two Bravo properties: the Big Easy Concert Houses in Boise, Idaho, and Spokane, Wash. Knitting Factory CEO Jared Hoffman told Pollstar at the time the company expected to build two new Big Easy-themed venues a year.

Knitting Factory has a presence on both coasts, while Bravo promotes throughout 19 flyover states. Thornton has been named senior VP of development for KFE, reporting to Hoffman, and will be responsible for the company’s national secondary market expansion planning and new venue development.

As the name makes clear, The Big Easy clubs have a New Orleans flair and expansions would likely be based on that.
