Festival Ahoy!
The September 15-16 festival on Treasure Island in San Francisco Bay is the first music-based event of this size ever held on the man-made island that was originally built to house the 1939 World’s Fair.
Festival organizers Noise Pop and Another Planet Entertainment have arranged the lineup so day one focuses on electronic and dance oriented acts and day two features indie rock.
Rounding out day one are Ghostland Observatory, Kinky, Zion I, Flosstradamus, Dengue Fever, Honeycut, West Indian Girl, Mocean Worker and Kid Beyond.
Day two’s roster is completed by Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, M Ward, Two Gallants, Earlimart, Au Revoir Simone, Film School, The Devil Makes Three, Sea Wolf, Street To Nowhere and Trainwreck Riders.
The festival will also feature interactive activities, a vending village featuring local artists and designers, and a diverse array of food and beverages.
A limited quantity of two-day tickets is available for $110, while single day tickets are $58.50. A VIP four-pack is also available, which includes four VIP tickets to one day of the festival, one VIP parking spot, a preferred viewing area and access to a VIP lounge with a full bar and other amenities.
To offset traffic congestion and the limited amount of parking on the island, festival organizers will provide bio-diesel burning busses to transport ticketholders on and off the island at no additional cost. Complimentary parking at AT&T Park in included with the price of a ticket.
Organizers are also taking steps to make sure the event is in line the growing trend of green festivals by using bio-diesel generators and purchasing renewable wind energy credits and investing in methane projects that create clean energy.
