Special guests for the tour include Robbie Krieger, Mick Taylor and Hubert Sumlin, as well as drummer Mitch Mitchell and bassist Billy Cox, who were the rhythm section that played behind Hendrix at Woodstock.

Rounding out the bill are the late Stevie Ray Vaughn’s rhythm section Chris Layton and Tommy Shannon, Native American band Indigenous, and Eric Gales.

Various combinations of these artists will perform signature Hendrix songs like “Purple Haze,” “Hey Joe,” and “Voodoo Child (Slight Return).”

The tour is being presented by Experience Hendrix, the production company formed in 1995 by the late musician’s family.

The 2004 outing in San Francisco, Portland and Seattle featured Guy, Shepherd, Sumlin, Mitchell and Cox, along with Carlos Santana, Joe Satriani and Paul Rodgers.
