Ani In Babeville
The Church, Ani DiFranco’s venue in Buffalo, N.Y., has a new name.
The 19th-century Gothic church that she bought and renovated has been re-titled Babeville and is officially opening up.
DiFranco and Andrew Bird are the only artists to be inked so far.
The venue had a low-key reopening in January after she and her manager, Scot Fisher, completed a $10 million renovation. DiFranco’s inaugural Babeville concert will also debut a new sound system.
The former church houses Righteous Babe Records, a gallery and Hallwalls Contemporary Arts Center.
