Benton began to feel ill during last night’s performance at Stone’sThrow in Eau Claire, Wis. After the show, he was rushed to the LutherMidelfort Hospital where he wasdiagnosed him with Bell’s Palsy, whichcauses paralysis of the face and sometimes sensitivity to sound.

In most cases the disease is temporary and resolves on its own. Doctors have orderedBenton off the road for a minimum of six weeks.

The remaing dates on Drowning Pool’s This IsFor The Soldiers Tour, which has been donating money to the Iraq andAfghanistan Veterans of America and the USO, have been canceled.

“I’m really bummed that because of this, we can’t perform this laststring of shows,” says Benton, “I want to thank the fans for theircontinued support and believe me when I say we can’t wait to come backand rock out with you all again soon.”
