The band will kick things off February 14 at the Galaxy Theatre in Santa Ana, Calif., before heading for Europe and the U.K. for six weeks.

Cities on the itinerary include Paris; Berlin; Copenhagen, Denmark; London; Glasgow, Scotland; Brussels, Belgium; Rome; Vienna, Austria; Eindhoven, The Netherlands; and Dublin, Ireland. Eels’ North American trek launches March 28 at First Unitarian Church in Philadelphia and hit clubs, theatres and the odd synagogue through mid-April.

Other destinations include Sixth & I Historic Synagogue in Washington, D.C. (March 29), The Mod Club Theatre in Toronto (April 4), Park West in Chicago (April 6), Showbox At The Market in Seattle (April 11), and the El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles (April 16).

Tickets for a few shows are available at Ticketmaster.com.

Eels leader Mark Oliver Everett, a.k.a. E, was recently the subject of a highly acclaimed BBC documentary film about himself and his father and has also written a book, “Things the Grandchildren Should Know,” which is a bestseller in the U.K. and will be released this fall in the U.S. A recent Eels show at St. James Church in London featured an appearance by Pete Townshend, who read excerpts from the book on stage.

And in a rather unusual marketing move, the band is planning to purchase one second of commercial time during the February 3 Super Bowl telecast to advertise Useless Trinkets.
