Tigrett Fights Plaque

Isaac Tigrett, founder of the Hard Rock Café and House of Blues franchises, has threatened Memphis’ Beale Street Commission with legal action for including his name and that of his late father, John Burton Tigrett, on a plaque honoring his family without his permission.

The "Brass Note" plaque also includes the name of Pat Kerr Tigrett, the entrepreneur’s stepmother, whom Tigrett claims is on a "continuous burlesque ride on the coattails of others’ accomplishments," according to a letter he wrote to the city’s Commercial Appeal.

Tigrett demanded that the "Off-Key Note" plaque be removed and all references to his name, his father’s name and any records noting the Hard Rock and House of Blues chains be destroyed, the paper said.
