Jerry Kravat Dies

Jerry Kravat, agent and longtime personal manager of singer Barbara Cook, died March 31st in New York from complications after cancer surgery.

Kravat, 72, spent nearly 50 years of his life in show business as a NYC nightclub and concert booker, bandleader and producer, according to the New York Times.

He began his career playing piano in the Catskills and went on to form Jerry Kravat Entertainment Services in 1977, which booked bands for weddings and social events. Its production arm, Park Avenue Talent, produced concerts and corporate events.

He also managed society orchestras from the mid ’60s to ’80s and coordinated entertainment for the principality of Monaco during the late ’70s.
