The band has a bunch of dates on the books before they hook up with Badu, including April 16 at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Ind.; April 20 at the Green Apple Festival on the National Mall in Washington, D.C.; April 24 at House of Blues in North Myrtle Beach, S.C.; May 2 at the Beale Street Music Festival at Tom Lee Park in Memphis and May 3 at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival at the city’s Fairgrounds Race Track.

The Roots’ trek with Badu kicks off May 4 at the Fox Theatre in Detroit and runs through mid-June.

Stops include the Orpheum Theatre in Boston (May 8), Pier Six Pavilion in Baltimore (May 10), DAR Constitution Hall in Washington, D.C. (May 14-15), Mizner Park Amphitheatre in Boca Raton, Fla.
