Carolina Complex In Full Swing

Owners of the former Carolina Amphitheatre in Marion, S.C., can say "mission accomplished" with the launch of the re-christened Carolina Entertainment Complex after several years of planning.

With concerts including Lynyrd Skynyrd, Big & Rich and Korn under its belt, the 30,000-capacity venue will host the Marion Country MusicFest featuring Lynyrd Skynyrd, Hank Williams Jr., Gretchen Wilson and Sugarland June 12-14.

The ownership group led by Mike Guarco and Henry Zukowski officially took over the shed in January 2007 and renovated the previously vacant site.

Upgrades at the facility, located 48 miles west of Myrtle Beach, include 6,913 fixed seats and 3,000 portable seats. Other amenities include a state-of-the-art kitchen, new permanent restrooms, camping and RV parking.

Zukowski told Pollstar that electrical hook-ups for up to eight tour buses and a load-in area that can accommodate up to seven trucks at a time are also available.

In addition to concerts, the complex will be used for church activities, car shows, exhibitions, speaking engagements and other events.
