Martin Wary Of Dollar Rate

Martin Professional’s Q1 revenues and profits are marginally up on 2007 but the Danish lighting company is wary of a weak dollar and has only moderately increased its forecast for 2008.

The Danish lighting specialists lifted revenue to $55.7 million in Q1, slightly up on the $54.9 million it brought in for Q1 2007, although profits soared to $4.6 million from $1.8 million.

The annual forecast reflects that figure but Martin doesn’t expect the rest of the year will be better, estimating that it should turn over $250 million in 2008 and make $16 million.

That’s a tad less than the $16.2 million profit it made from $234.5 million turnover in 2007.
