Street Scene Returns To The Street
San Diego’s Street Scene, which has moved around for the past couple of years, will return to the city’s East Village neighborhood this year, with headliners Beck and The Black Crowes.
The September 19-20 event will take place on four stages at a site that includes Tailgate Park, with 14th Street as the main thoroughfare and bordered by Imperial Avenue to J Street.
More than 30 acts are scheduled to appear, including Tegan and Sara, Justice, Spoon, TV on the Radio, STS9, Michael Franti & Spearhead, The National, Atmosphere, Cat Power, Hot Chip, The New Pornographers, X, Vampire Weekend, The Hives, Cold War Kids, Ghostland Observatory, Spiritualized, Man Man, Tokyo Police Club, DeVotchKa, Does It Offend You, Yeah?, Dengue Fever, MGMT, Eagles of Death Metal and many more.
Street scene founder Rob Hagey teamed with Tim Mays, owner of The Casbah, to reinvent the festival as it returns to its roots. Many of the bands on the lineup got their start at the San Diego venue or at shows produced by Mays.
