Shneider, 52, was born in Russia and was a former member of Eleven and Queens of the Stone Age, as well as an actress who appeared in television shows and films, most notably as a Russian cosmonaut in “2010.”

Her other work included contributions to albums by Chris Cornell and Louis XIV and a song on the soundtrack of the 2004 movie “Catwoman.”

A benefit celebrating Shneider’s life and work will be held at the Henry Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles on August 16.

Further details will be released shortly.

Proceeds from the event, as well as donations made at NatashaShneider.org, will go to pay medical bills accrued during her fight with cancer.
