MSG Shuffle

Madison Square Garden Entertainment has significantly reorganized its executive staff, giving new duties to major players like Melissa Miller Ormond, Don Simpson and Bob Shea.

Ormond, former booking contact for MSG and a multiple winner of Pollstar’s talent buyer of the year award, has been named chief operating officer of MSGE. She is expected to work closely with president Jay Marciano and newly appointed executive VP Andrea Greenberg.

Ormond’s former duties will be divided between Shea and Laurie Jacoby. Jacoby has been named senior VP of bookings for New York. Shea has been named senior VP of regional bookings and special projects.

Shea will oversee bookings and operations of all concerts, family attractions, touring theatricals and special events outside of New York. That includes the newly acquired Chicago Theatre. Shea was most recently the booking contact for SoCal for Live Nation.

Simpson, who ran House of Blues Concerts Canada, has been named senior VP of business development. He will be responsible for the evaluation, planning and development of new venue acquisitions and off-site, stand-alone music events, according to a statement. Simpson has been helping to develop MSG’s first outdoor festival, which is expected to take place in 2010 in Springfield, N.Y.
