A-Rod Inks WMA Deal

Baseball superstar Alex Rodriguez of the New York Yankees has signed with the William Morris Agency, with an assist from manager Guy Oseary.

The move appears to diminish the role that sports superagent Scott Boras will play in Rodriguez’s future, although he says he will represent the slugger in baseball-related negotiations.

The timing comes as A-Rod and Madonna, both managed by Oseary, have been romantically linked in the tabloid press. Both have denied the reports.

Rodriguez’s signing may be an effort to set him on financial par with Tiger Woods, the Wall Street Journal noted.

Woods makes $100 million annually in non-tournament revenue but Rodriguez – who might go in the books as one of the greatest baseball players ever – makes a mere $10 million in endorsements per year.
