Tour Of The Century?

AEG Live Europe chief Rob Hallett says he believes the company’s run of Leonard Cohen shows is a contender for tour of the century.

"We are thrilled that Leonard has agreed to extend what is surely the tour of the year, if not the century," he said in a statement announcing the veteran Canadian singer/songwriter will do another lap of Europe in autumn.

Cohen’s recent U.K. run, which included Glastonbury Festival, certainly won a rapturous chorus of approval from the major U.K. newspapers.

AEG reports that 29 of the original dates sold out quickly, and the second leg will give fans in such locations as Romania, Czech Republic and Poland a chance to enjoy an evening with the doom-laden legend.

It starts in Bucharest September 21 and also takes in Austria, Germany, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Belgium, Italy, Switzerland, Holland, France, the U.K. and Ireland.
