Yankees Burn Ban
The New York Yankees recently reversed a ban on sunblock at Yankee Stadium after a New York Post investigation on the unpopular practice.
Yankees fans had to leave their sunblock at the stadium entrances because officials deemed sunblock containers a terrorism risk.
Unlike the days following 9/11 when event patrons were exceptionally compliant with security requests, Yankees fans protested loudly.
"There have been a lot of complaints," a security supervisor told the Post. "We tell them to apply once and then throw it out."
The stadium sells 1-ounce bottles of Arizona Sun SPF 15 for $5. A few hours after the Post contacted the Yankees about the practice, the organization reversed its policy and now permits 3-ounce bottles.
